Fenestration you ask?
It is the arrangement, proportioning, and design of windows and doors in a building.
What We Do
The Fenestration Manufacturers Association (FMA) is engaged in developing, testing and publishing best management practices for the installation of windows and exterior doors used in extreme wind and water environments. Additionally, the FMA effectively represents its members before policy makers, building code promulgators and building officials.

FMA, AAMA and WDMA have jointly published FMA/AAMA 100-07, FMA/AAMA 200-09 and FMA/WDMA 250-10 addressing consensus protocols for installations in wood frame and CMU substrates. FMA continues to take the lead on developing installation protocols for exterior doors.
Code Representation
FMA advocates for solid policies at the legislative level as well as before the Florida Building Commission and various technical advisory committees.
Research
FMA has participated with the University of Florida in the Wind Driven Rain Research funded by the Florida Building Commission. The FMA/AAMA and FMA/WDMA protocols were successfully tested during this research. FMA continues to look towards developing installation protocols for retrofit in existing buildings.

Governmental Affairs
What truly makes FMA different from other fenestration associations is our approach to advocacy. FMA provides the conduit to legislators and state agency policymakers to affect positive change on issues concerning our members and our industry. The FMA difference is our understanding of the legislative process and the power of effective lobbying. Your FMA membership provides you with a "place at the table".
